Roadspan Surfaces has been awarded the asphalt surfacing and single seal (SAMI) by Rumdel Construction (Cape) on the N12 between Uncle Charlie’s interchange and Reading Interchange. The scope of the works that are to be undertaken comprise 92 800 tons of asphalt, 3 300 m3 of asphalt milling and 380 000 m2 of SAMI. The works to be overseen by Harry Visser are to be completed within eight months and establishment is currently underway on site.

The award of the R21 Rietfontein interchange to Pomona Interchange for Patula Construction has been confirmed. The scope includes 72 200 tons of asphalt together with 813 000 m2 of ultra thin friction course asphalt. The company has invested in a new specialised asphalt paving machine, specifically designed to pave this product. This contract will be supervised by Gert Meyer over a construction period of eight months.
